25+ Expressions by SQWID 25+ Expressions by SQWID
My massacre of [link] from :iconnapalmnacey:'s ever so popular meme. Thought it would help me out just in drawing expressions, 'cause I never do...didn't think much about the character design though...so kinda half-assed. It was fun, and I'll probably do it again...better-ly. lol

I realize now, with an opinion from Clover :icondefloweredvirgin: that I should try to lean more toward cartoonish-ness, since the expressions are there but don't really pop out or get the point across as well as they could. Thanks, babe.

Mkay... got some credits 'cause I'm a lazy ass who can't do anything all by myself.
Sixth row, middle picture (a maniacal expression) would be [link] by :iconvigorousjammer: Really wish I would've known about him before I started drawing these, he's got some great expressive stock and an all around badass look. Go check 'em out.
Annnd: [link] by :iconfaestock: as the "hopeful" expression right next to the aforementioned. I don't think I've seen much of her stock, which is crazy 'cause she rawks so hard. lol Fantasy artists should really go check it out.

So I'll probably tuck this attempt into scraps later, but I'm glad for the experience, drawing (or trying to draw) the same character from different angles in different expressions n' all. I'd recommend this meme-ishness to anyone, and the tutorial linked to on that page...read it before you go a-scribbling (I....didn't =/)

Crits, opinions, etc. always welcome.

By the way... you might've noticed it's not 25...I added some, dunno why. Also, the last row is the weird one...did the same character as thicker, thinner, older, infant, and child....dunno why.

Edit: I missed one! Thanks to :iconwookiestock: for the reference in "Silly": [link] :) He makes referencing fun.

Very cool expressions, but all of them look somewhat different to each other - in the bottom left panel, for example, he looks heavyset like Jack Black, but two panels to the right he looks very long faced. I think it's great you're using reference because your work looks very tight and nicely rendered, but if you can find a way to "unify" the character a bit it would be even stronger!

Nice work!

How very right you are! I can never seem to repeat the same character convincingly enough, but I'm inspired to put in the effort here, thanks for the suggestion, hopefully I can replace this one someday. That bottom row is supposed to be as 'heavy, skinny, older, infant, child' heh, probably should have labeled them though!

WOW o.o
Is designed really well, the expressions are very realistic!
The character is really cool, we would very much like the protagonist of a story gothic fantasy

Grazie! Sono contento che ti piace l'estetica del personaggio. Credo che cerchero di disegnare piu di lui. Scusa il mio cattivo italiano. :slow:

Ma che dici sei molto bravo!Io scrivo da schifo in Inglese xD

You would do well to seriously draw that character again, it is really cool!

Si tratta di una forza d'abitudine da mi molti errori. Grazie. Il vostro Inglese non e male, ho visto molto molto peggio da madrelingua. :)
After I drew all those faces, it was difficult not to draw him. Hahaha, another force of habit.
